Setup
Create a central game area with four outside support players. Teams play 5v5 or 6v6 inside and can use outside players to keep possession. Gates on each side give the defending team a target after regains.
Practice Description
The game alternates between possession and recovery. After a team completes six passes, the coach serves a new ball to create a second phase. If the defending team regains, they have six seconds to score through a gate before the possession team can reset.
Coaching Points
- Recover shape quickly after physical actions
- Create short support angles around the ball
- Use outside players to change the point of attack
- Press together after losing possession
- Stay composed when tired
Progressions
- Add a two-touch limit inside
- Reduce the area after each successful six-pass sequence
- Make gate goals count only within six seconds of regain
Regressions
- Increase the area
- Allow unlimited touches
- Use neutral players inside before moving them outside
Player Questions
- How do we keep the ball when the game becomes tired?
- Where is the next support angle before the pass arrives?
- What is our first reaction when we lose possession?
Technology Insight: What Could Be Measured
Track pass sequences, possession under fatigue, support distance, six-second transition actions, and recovery intensity after losing the ball.
TCC Interpretation: Why This Session Works
This session works because it blends technical security with emotional control. Players have to keep solving possession problems while tired, then react collectively when the ball changes hands.
